DE Klop Dredge Equipment: First Company on ‘t Plaatje

DE Klop is launching a new venture at the industrial site ‘t Plaatje in Sliedrecht. The innovative company specializes in sustainable solutions for dredging vessels and equipment.

A New Company
DE Klop B.V. is a relatively new player in the dredging industry, but its professionals each have over 25 years of experience in the sector. The company successfully secured an investor with family ties to the dredging industry, dating back to the founding of N.V. Scheepsbouwwerf en Machinefabriek De Klop. With the rebirth of DE Klop and its establishment in Sliedrecht, both the company and its investor return to their historic roots.

The company focuses on delivering a wide range of designs and products, including pumps, dredging equipment, and automation solutions for the dredging industry. DE Klop B.V. has already begun constructing a fully electric cutter suction dredger.

Additionally, DE Klop acquired Machinefabriek de Hollandsche IJssel, which needed to relocate from Oudewater due to residential development. This acquisition not only expands the region with a quintessentially Dutch company but also marks the next step in DE Klop’s continued growth.

Sliedrecht: A Logical Choice
DE Klop B.V. found both a location and an investor in the Drechtsteden region. Sliedrecht was a natural choice due to its deep-rooted history in the dredging and offshore industries. The town is often referred to as “the cradle of the Dutch dredging industry.”

Ambition
From autumn 2024, DE Klop will move into a new state-of-the-art facility at ‘t Plaatje. Situated along the Beneden-Merwede river in Sliedrecht, the location offers a central position between Gorinchem and Rotterdam, making it ideal for high-quality maritime services.
