Feasibility and Design Studies
Feasibility studies
Often, a dredging company identifies new opportunities but needs the right tools to execute the project effectively. DE Klop can assist these companies with a feasibility study or a design study. By getting involved early, we can transform our customers’ ideas and business cases into comprehensive ship designs and feasibility projects for new equipment. Our team has extensive experience in analyzing customer situations and turning business cases into concrete concepts. Thanks to our deep expertise, we deliver swift and precise results, starting from rough estimates based on key figures to detailed calculations.
Throughout the project development, total cost of ownership is a primary focus. We evaluate all possible options for costs to ensure the best choices are made, supported by solid economic data. The goal of a feasibility or design study is to create an optimized solution that meets the customer’s functional and operational requirements. Projects can start with a workshop or initial briefing about the project. An initial concept is then developed and discussed with the customer. Together, we explore requirements and potential solutions. If necessary, site visits, additional workshops, or other forms of data analysis, such as AIS data analysis, can help refine the concept.
The project deliverables are customizable and can include concept drawings, specifications, and rough cost estimates. DE Klop can mobilize a multidisciplinary team comprising dredging experts, equipment designers, and operational specialists. We also collaborate closely with external consultants and experts when it benefits the project. The project can then proceed to concept and detailed engineering stages.
